A spider came to see me: just spun right down from the ceiling toward the desk. It was little, just under the diameter of a dime in length with legs extended, and colored a pretty pale bluish gray.
I caught it in a cup, but I wasn't ready to leave for lunch for a few minutes, so I just kept an eye on it, and whenever it started to crawl to the top of the cup, I blew it back down to the bottom.
I feel almost like this was spider torture, but at the same time, I was doing it so that I could release it outside instead of just casually killing it, so I don't feel bad about it. I didn't want to put anything over the cup to hold it in because it was opaque and I thought my attempt to keep it alive would be less than useful if I crushed it.
Also, the girl who trained me is freaked about spiders.
ETA: Shook him out of the cup onto the lawn. Operation Save Spider was a success!
