There is so much writing I need to do. I have said this before, and not followed through. I don't want that to happen this time.

I have a list of topics that I want to write about before they fade from the front of my mind. I intend to write about them this week.

This week is empty of booked evenings (unlike last week, during which there was an activity planned for every night of the week (though this count includes giving candy to trick to trick-or-treaters on Monday, it's not like I did anything else during that three hours, other than to reread most of Diana Wynne Jones' The Lives of Christopher Chant and bake about five batches of pumpkin seeds)), and I hope to fill it with productive things - last week was fun, but I feel a need to get some things done.

Today I noticed that one of my glasses lenses was loose. When I checked to see why, I found that the same screw with which I repaired my glasses last week was hanging halfway out of the hole. I had stashed the repair kit in my purse, and fixed it, but I suspect that the threads of the screwhole are stripped... and this is not a good situation.

I am pondering the pros and cons of applying a dot of superglue to the butt of the new screw - it sticks out far enough from the frame that I could just fill in the threads so it would not fit back through the hole rather than gumming up the whole works, so to speak. These glasses I plan to soon relegate to spare-pair status... but I would like to keep the possibility of replacing the lenses to keep them up to date with my ocular needs.

It might be best to hold off on any repair and just keeping an extra vigilant eye out until I buy the new ones, and then ask the eye place to repair my old ones at the same time. The question is, can I be careful enough to keep them intact for that long? I am doubtful, and I need them to remain in service until they are replaced. Maybe I should only use them in the car from now until the end of the year; driving is the only time when I really need them, and doing so would much lessen the abuse they take from my regular usage (they do make a great headband!)

It is pleasant when a weekend is full, but it reduces your actual downtime. Perhaps I can relax in the office tomorrow!

The idea of installing someone else in my apartment while I stay at the Event Horizon has been raised, and while I had thought of it myself and rejected the idea as not being worth the risks involved, this time the idea as framed is potentially practical. While it's as yet only a possibility of a possibility, the thought is helping me motivate some in the effort to clean up the disastrous mess left by the removal of nekouken's stuff. I'm pleased; I need all the help I can get finding this motivation, and the idea of blowing a smaller fraction of my paychecks on rent is appealing.

loh put this in her journal; it's not infinite (yes, I checked; 1083 does not equal infinity), but it's fun. For some reason it reminds me of this - of which this one was great.

This is a great link. In conjunction with this, it explains - albeit somewhat imperfectly - almost everything that is. :)
